Me and Music

I love to sing. Singing causes so much joy. I used to sing just for me, I’ve never though about professional singing, as I haven’t graduated from any music school. And yet I sang several public concerts of lyric poetry. How did this happen?

In 2008 my mom died. She was a fantastic woman, that planted that love for art in me. She was a teacher at school, and was a real “renaissance person”, organizing school theater, painting, writing poetry, legends, and lyrics to her own music she played on guitar. She wanted “more than just to be” as she wrote in one of her poems. I took her heritage to re-discover these works of art and save it from being forgotten by publishing a book entitled “A little more than just to be”. I had arranged piano music to some of her songs and organized a concert in 2013 in a our local cultural centre in Łomianki. Guests could see her paintings and listen to her poems. The event gathered friends, family, ex-pupils, and others that were curious who she was. After that, I received another invitations from two another local cultural centres (Czosnów and Warszawa). I’m very glad my mom’s poetry has its own fans.

I felt encouraged by these concerts and started to write my own lyrics, composed couple of songs… They do not reflect all of my feelings, but primarily they express my thoughts and observations of the world around me. I feel I have something to offer as a creative person, so I hope I will present you my material one day…I’m working towards it.
